Policemen in Thika Town have become more strict as they try to eliminate the night sex commercial workers in the town.

Police officers are no longer taking chances in their night patrol but instead sweeping whoever they come across in the streets.

In the last one week several innocent people have found themselves locked up in police cells with no offence as they try to rush home from work.

The lucky ones are those who drive themselves home. Those are secure having no interraction with the police on patrol at all.

Talking to one of the victims on Thursday, Jackson Murage said that innocent hustlers have not only slept in the custody once but severally while going home from work.

"At times I just find myself caught up in between while rushing home from my daily hustle. We survive in this town by 'grace' especially those who leave their jobs later than nine and have no other means to get home apart from using matatus," he said.

Earlier on Thika MP Patrick Wainaina had promised to eliminate commercial sex workers in the town and this could have led to the current state of affairs in the town.
