Fast foods hardly have sufficient fiber. An individual needs to consume around 35 grams of fiber a day to avoid constipation. Fiber makes the food softer and larger which then becomes easier to pass. Sources of fiber include vegetables, fruits and legumes like peas. Oat, wheat and rice are also rich in fiber. Drink sufficient water in a day for a comfortable bowel movement. 6-8 glasses of water are described as adequate to keep you hydrated. Exercise is also known to help in bowel movement so make a point of working out once in a while.Too much coffee or caffeinated drinks drain water from the body since coffee is a diuretic. Refrain from taking too much coffee. When it's time to answer the call of nature, just go. Don't force it to stay in there because you're too distracted by TV. Laxatives can help with your constipation. If you're not sure what laxative to use, ask your doctor.
