It is not a strange thing to see your baby develop rashes on the buttocks and the groin area after using pampers for long. These rashes are called “Pamper rash” because their cause is associated directly and/or indirectly with pamper use. So what can you do to avoid pamper rashes?

Remove pamper immediately it is full

Some people let the bay stay with the same pamper for too long. It is full but they do not bother to remove it. Even when the baby gets irritated, they assume it. This is very dangerous. The bacteria in the urine and stool may affect the soft skin of the baby, causing rashes and in some cases, serious infections. Bacteria thrive well in damp, moist places.

Give room for aeration

Another cause of “pamper rash” is when the baby is not given room to breathe. He or she is wearing pampers the whole day and the whole night. It is vital for your baby to stay pamper-free for some hours during the day. The groin area needs to get aerated. It is even better he or she stays naked for some time, especially during hot weathers. Alternatively, you can opt for loose clothing to allow circulation of air.

Stick to one type of pamper

Using different pampers may also cause Pamper rash. A baby has a sensitive skin. When it gets used to a certain make of pamper, then you better stick to that make. If you change a different type of pamper, the baby’s skin may react to “foreign material” and cause rashes.

Maintain a high level of hygiene

Make sure your baby is always clean. Wash your hands after changing diapers. Also, clean the baby before you “pamper” him or her. By maintaining a high level of cleanliness, you are simply pushing away potential pathogens.
