On 14th February, the world will celebrate three main events. The most popular one is Valentine’s Day. Valentine’s Day is a day when lovers celebrate love. It is characterized by gifts of Red flowers, chocolates, and red dress code.
The same day, Catholic faithfuls will celebrate Ash Wednesday. Ash Wednesday is a day of fasting which falls 46 days before Easter. Also known as the day of the lent, Ash Wednesday is celebrated to commemorate the 40 days Jesus Christ fasted in preparation for Easter.
14th February is also International Condoms day. Condoms day seek to promote the use of condoms as a means of preventing sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and unwanted pregnancies. International Condoms day was started in 2009 and is promoted by the AIDS Healthcare Foundation to reduce the spread of HIV/AIDS.
