Controversial political analyst Mutahi Nguyi has suggested five ways that can help force ODM party leader Raila Odinga out of politics.
In his opinion piece titled: 'How to Retire Raila in Five Installments', Nguyi believes the decision by the former Lang'ata MP not to quit active politics be dealt with by the use of these five steps that he believes will render him ineffective.
First, he believes the former premier's sense of self worth should be inflated in order to blind him with self importance. According to Nguyi, this will help him (Raila) fail to perceive the reality and in turn this will hurts his political ambitions.
Secondly, is to increase his appetite for painful sacrifices. According to Nguyi, if the appetite is fulfilled, the appetite will be quenched and that he will be rendered insignificant as he will have nothing to fight for.
Thirdly, he suggests Raila should be blind-sided. This, according to Ngunyi, will make Raila to think that he has power and authority which is non-existent. This he believes will make Raila to believe that he has politicians on his side when in actual sense he is alone.
The fourth strategy according to Ngunyi is to delude him with the idea of power. He suggests that by constantly referring to Raila as Prime Minister, a position that does not exist, will quench his appetite for power.
The fifth strategy is 'cook him slowly'. According to Ngunyi, since Raila cannot retire on his own, he should be retired slowly by slowly.
