According to Ipsos Synovate, a major research firm in Kenya stress is a major killer in Nairobi and yet it is not a disease nor a tragedy.

One of the main reason why this is happening is because people are afraid of saying the simple word “NO."

Before a person says this word they beat around the bush and stay mad just because they were afraid of saying it. According to a survey conducted by Ipsos Synovate, more than 93% of people have a difficult in saying the word. Your world will change when you learn how to say “No.”

Here are some of the ways in which the word NO can change your health status

1.) Live upon your principles

Live according to your values and put your priorities first. If you live according to your values most of your decisions would be wholly made

2) Always have a schedule to follow

At the beginning of each and every morning take your time and arrange your time effectively and in a balanced way. It helps a lot

3.) Have a rain check once in a while

A rain check is something being postponed until a later date. One does not have to give out explanations to why they were postponed. In this case, feel free to manage your stress levels because if you don't someone else will pay the price which still brings to the answer “NO”

4.) Prioritise on your goals

Always fulfill your goals and don't be compelled to fulfill someone else's dreams for your life. If you don't live by your priorities someone else will set them. When you allow guilt to make you say “Yes” you are closing a door in your life.
