Human beings are different. Some are more different than what is considered 'normal'.
That's why people use words like 'weird'. However, I think these are misplaced words we use to describe people we don't understand.
There are introverts and extroverts. The former at times find it hard to socialize.
Some have it so bad that they hardly have any friends, which is unhealthy as everyone needs friends to stay sane.
You need to love yourself the way you are. All personalities have weaknesses that people are constantly trying to improve. Don't beat yourself up because your weakness is different from your neighbour's.
The worst thing you could do at this point is trying to 'fit in'. Why 'fit in'? You have to let them see and love or reject the real you. If you don't accept yourself for who you really are, how will anyone?
Even though putting yourself out there and trying to socialise might feel uncomfortable at first, just practice on anyone you meet.
Say hello to the old lady on the bus, tell the little girl with her mother that you love her doll and take advantage of any opportunity you come across.
These little experiences will teach you how to interact with others. Some people will be rude and that's okay since you get to learn to handle rejection too.
Social skills are an important part of human interaction. It doesn't matter how excellent you are at computers or any other profession, poor social skills will affect your relationship even with your family.
No one can read your mind, no matter how much they love you. You'll have to learn to communicate effectively.
Practice your social skills a little each day, not to get to perfection but to suffice to relay to others your thoughts and feelings.
