Buy a wrist watch/clock

While taking a digital recess, having a wrist watch and a wall clock is a major boost.

This will reduce the instances where you have to go seek your phone or steal a glare at your computer to know the time.

It also prevents you from depending on your phone as an alarm as some clocks and wrist watches have alarm options.

Log out from all social media accounts

Staying away or without your phone/laptop can be very difficult. 

However, logging out from all your social media platforms during the time you are taking the detox is very helpful.It will also prevent the pop-up and PUSH messages which always come-up when your accounts are logged in.

Identify alternative activity

Almost everyone can concede to the point that digital devices have transited and become a companion to people as they come handy when boredom strikes and therefore separation from them could lead to further complications for instance stress.

However, when taking the detox; one should look for other activities such as working out, learning something new, visiting friends or even sleeping when you are tempted to go online.

Switch to Airplane mode

Airplane mode is not only used while you are in church, class or court.

Decide when to be offlineIt may not sound practical to just lock out every sort of communication just because you are taking detox.

It is therefore advisable to plan and schedule when you will execute your plan but before it, inform your contacts that you will not be available for a while for them not to get worried.
