That Kenya's politics is riddled with betrayal is nothing new.

From founding fathers Jaramogi Oginga Odinga to Kenyatta, then Moi and lately Kibaki, political MOUs or gentlemen agreement do not work.Within the Jubilee power circles there is a believe that President Uhuru Kenyata will hand the mantle to his deputy William Ruto in 2022 if Jubilee is reelected into office in 2017.A Member of Parliamnet has, however, cast doubts on whether Uhuru is truly going to support his DP to inherit the House on the Hill.Kuresoi South MP Zakayo Cheruiyot claimed Uhuru has already signed an MOU with six parties including Gideon Moi's KANU in the absence of his deputy. The MP said DP Ruto was deceived to kill his United Republican Party (URP) only for President Kenyatta to start pacts with other smaller parties."We have realised things are changing and that is why we have formed our own party called Chama Cha Mashinani. DP Ruto's journey to State House is a nightmare. Jubilee has some other plans," the legislator said.

Sources close to the MP said there are fears that Uhuru is laying the ground for Gideon Moi to reciprocate old Moi's gesture where he appointed Uhuru his preferred candidate in 2002 when he was leaving power.
