Former Meru Governor Peter Munya's 2022 presidential bid now remains uncertain. This is after he dropped his petition against his successor Governor Kiraitu Murungi, so as to possibly be appointed by President Uhuru Kenyatta to his second Cabinet or any top government post.Munya had declared to face off with Uhuru's deputy, William Ruto who the PNU party leader said was using Kiraitu to frustrate his political ambitions.Ruto is interested in succeeding Uhuru upon his retirement come 2022, through Jubilee Party.Munya told a local TV station, that he could not confirm whether or not he would be on the presidential race after five years, since he was not aware the nature of the job he would be given by Uhuru and Ruto.According to him, maybe the duo can give him a job that will require him to stay away from active politics. In case of such a job, Munya said he may be required to shelve his presidential ambition and serve the country as a civil servant."Depending on the nature of the job that the president will give me, I can’t confirm to you whether I will run for the presidency in 2022," Munya said, Saturday."I will review that decision when it is clear where I am going to serve," added the politician who once joined opposition's National Super Alliance for few days before declaring support for Uhuru after August 8 general elections.
