President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto’s camps may have been caught by surprise over presidential petition that challenges their reelection.

Initially, NASA team led by lawyer James Orengo in their frequent pressers maintained that they had no intention to go to court.

But with just two days to the constitutional timeline of filing a petition in court, ODM leader Raila Odinga revealed the team’s intention to challenge the results in the Supreme Court.

And to prove that the NASA team through Orengo had collected enough evidence to challenge the outcome, the team filed voluminous evidence accompanied by several annexes that showed they had started working on the case earlier.

After Uhuru’s announcement, Jubilee team had started inauguration plans with State House keen to have the ceremony take place in accordance to the constitution.

Known for his tricks and mind games, Orengo would be remembered as one of the politicians who have fought many court battles in his long career as a senior counsel.
