President Uhuru Kenyatta has revealed how they 'tricked' the opposition NASA off the streets and bloodshed.
Speaking at the Jubilee rally at Uhuru Park on Saturday, the president said that the opposition first used dubious means to overturn his election so as to incite his supporters to fight.
He said that NASA were expecting the president and his supporters to go to the streets and shed blood of Kenyans especially in Nairobi and other areas where Jubilee enjoys massive support.
Uhuru said that they read Raila's tact and decided to beat him at his own game by accepting the verdict of the Supreme Court and campaigning for the repeat elections.
“Raila was shocked that we accepted the verdict of the court. He thought we are like him and would reject the decision,” the president said while addressing supporters at Uhuru Park on Saturday.
“In 2007, he lost the election and he refused to accept defeat and caused bloodshed. When he got what he wanted (Raila was appointed Prime Minister to stop the post-election violence), he turned around and said Uhuru and Ruto were responsible for the violence,” said the President as quoted by the Star.
