Being a leader from the Western part of Kenya, a region believed to have high population - second largest in the country, Wetangula has attracted many followers for such a short period of time.To start with, Moses Wetangula became famous after being a National Super Alliance co-principal, an opportunity he has maximumly utilized. Being the leader of Ford-Kenya, Wetangula was favored and he would be awarded nothing less than to be a co-principal of the opposition coalition.Since then, he has been a vocal leader and having the privilege to walk around the country with Raila Odinga as a fellow co-principal has really contributed to his fame. He is able to address press conferences and big gatherings in the name of NASA, something he does proudly.Despite the fact that the coalition lost, he emerged a winner in the senatorial post which he was competing for. Evidently, the company of the fellow colleagues in the coalition who are famous contributed to his victory by a greater margin. As the clock is ticking and the day for 'swearing in' is approaching, however, I consider Wetangula as not firm in his statements and it's like he is in the coalition to benefit himself. This is after keenly considering his utterances that made me feel like he recognizes the current government despite the earlier allegations of illegitimacy.“Uhuru and Ruto this country does not belong to you, it belongs to 45 million Kenyans and 43 communities of this country. So when you sit down, it matters not whether you got votes in Luo Nyanza or not. We want to see Luos in your Cabinet. It matters not whether you got votes in Ukambani or not, don’t pick sycophants, pick people who are respected,” said Wetangula. The recognition of Uhuru and Ruto in choosing the right cabinet is a sign they were fairly elected and should they appoint the right cabinet, all things would be alright. This is contrary to the planned 'swearing in' which would enable the opposition to run a parallel 'government'.Lastly, whether he is in the coalition for popularity or for the good of the country and his colleagues in NASA, Wetangula has no option besides being firm to his statements without wavering.
