The Ford Kenya party leader was on Tuesday dethroned by the Orange Democratic Party (ODM) senators, who dominate the house' opposition wing, with his position going to his Siaya counterpart James Orengo.

In an interview on Radio Jambo Wednesday, at a time when Wetangula's party is crying foul, ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna said that the opposition co-leader's downfall results from his disrespectful character.

Sifuna raised allegations of Wetangula's arrogance in the house, saying that the lawmakers reported mistreatment and belittlement.

''The senators were committed to have him go because of his poor leadership qualities in the house. He branded himself the ''big man'' because of his position as the National Super Alliance (NASA) co-principal, looking down upon his counterparts,'' said Sifuna.

''You cannot overlook the people whom you are supposed to consult and represent and expect them to tolerate you, they will always device a way to oust you,'' he added.

Wetangula was also blamed for Thursday remarks, where he to stay put and defend his position..

''Instead of consulting them, he opened another battle field boasting how unmovable he is. Also, on Tuesday, he should have reached out to them but instead ran to Musalia Mudavadi and Kalonzo Musyoka for protection,'' noted Sifuna.
