There is still a great deal of uncertainty regarding the US President Donald Trump along with his administration and their response to the August 8 elections should there be violence.

Mark Bellamy, who served as a previous US diplomat to Kenya, stated there would be issues confronting the US and other donor countries.

Their goal is to prevent another aftermath similar to that of the 2007-2008 elections says Mark. He further mentioned that the administration has not come to a decision due to the consequences of what could be a non-transparent election.

“There is no cavalry riding to the rescue — no Kofi Annan,” Mr Bellamy said as reported by the Daily Nation while referring to the 2008 peace negotiations conducted by the former United Nations secretary general.

Interestingly, top Africa posts in the State Department and White House stay empty about six months after Mr Trump's initiation. This may be a sign that the US President may not have any particular interests with Kenya at the moment.

In the event that violence erupts one month from now, the Trump organization seems ill-equipped to react, similar to the Bush organization 10 years ago.

However, according to Lauren Ploch Blanchard, a researcher for the US Congress, US Ambassador Robert Godec "is working resolutely" to guarantee global help for a trustworthy and tranquil race on August 8.
