NASA strategist David Ndii’s wife Mwende Gatabaki has revealed how Winnie Odinga saved her from being locked at the Diani police.
According to Mwende, Winnie who is opposition leader Raila Odinga’s daughter, came in time when she was arguing with police officers demanding to see her husband.
Speaking to journalists on Monday, Mrs. Ndii claimed that the officers threatened to throw her behind bars if she was not going to stop asking questions.
She satated that once Winnie arrived at the premises, the officers calmed down.
“I was detained for sometimes, then Winnie Odinga came and started talking to the officers. She asked them what was going on. And at that point I noticed they also changed a bit. The idea of throwing me into the cell changed,” she said.
Mr. Ndii was arrested on Sunday evening while at Leopard hotel in Kwale.
He was later charged at the Milimani law courts with incitement but later released on a police bond of Sh10, 000.
