(photo/ Daily Nation)The Kenya National Examination Council Chief Executive Officer Prof. George Magoha has detailed the extent of a huge security operation to ensure a smooth carrying out of the 2017 Examination in the country. Speaking at KICD in Nairobi, the CEO outlined how they procured helicopters for airlift examination to inaccessible areas. The Kenya Police Service and Kenya Defence Forces provided additional choppers to supplement the KNEC choppers in areas such as Wajir, Turkana, Isiolo and Kwale, Magoha noted. The CEO also highlighted that over 176, 251 professionals were contracted, including special agents, to secure the examination. Mr. Magoha also noted that KNEC procured marking machines worth ksh. 100 million to speed up the marking process. There were also changes on the KNEC Act 2012 to impose stricter penalties on cheats.
