Kisumu County government has developed human resource manual to assist managers and human resource professionals with daily human resource management activities.
The county public service board chairman Nahashon Oguya said the manual will present them with a clear framework on how to organise the welfare of the county workers.
Speaking in Kisumu on Tuesday during a consultation on the policy manual, Oguya said they will be reaching out to different stakeholders in the county before the manual is implemented.
Oguya added that there will be one clear reward scheme for the county workers as it strives to harmonize pay perks, adding that county staffs are well represented in the consultation forums since they are the main target of the manual.
The county secretary Humphrey Nakitare told the chief officers in the county to ensure there is adequate service delivery in the county.
Nakitare noted that the officers should set up a good example to other staff to emulate, further warning lazing staff that the county will take punitive measures against them if they fail to perform in their duties.
“You must take your responsibility seriously to improve the civil service, it will not be business as usual, if caught sleeping on the job or not doing according to your mandate, you might find yourself jobless, said Nakitare.
Public Service Board members were present during the forum that included the board member in charge of human resource Odeny Oyoo.
