Human rights activist Christopher Kyalo has called upon Kangundo MP, Maweu Katatha, to be actively involved in Parliament debates.
This comes after a report by Mzalendo.com listed Katatha in the category of 13 MPs who did not contribute to debate sessions during the 122 sittings of the second session of the house in 2014.
Speaking while addressing residents in Kangundo town on Monday, Kyalo who is also the director of the Youth Focus Information & Communication Project (YFIC-P), expressed his disapproval on the way the MP was carrying out his development projects.
The activist further claimed that Katatha did not involve the constituents in the constituency’s ongoing projects.
Kyalo said that Kangundo residents elected Katatha to be their representative in Parliament hence his silence translates to poor representation.
“We want him to involve the youth and residents in the development projects. We are also urging him to routinely visit different locations so that residents can air problems that need to be addressed by his office,” said Kyalo.
