The Centre for Human Rights and Democracy Eldoret Branch coordinator, Kipkorir Ng'etich, has said that the organization has finished collecting public views that will petition the Senate to form a committee, which will investigate the Uasin Gishu County Government for what they term as poor service delivery to the citizenry.
Ng'etich, who was addressing the press in Eldoret Town on Tuesday said that Uasin Gishu County residents are disappointed by the county government's lack of development plans, biased hiring of public servants as well as looting of public coffers.
“Residents of this county are not happy at all by the performance of the county government in terms of service delivery despite receiving enough money from the central government,” said Ng'etich.
He added that residents are surprised that the government does not register on the infamous EACC List of Shame.
“Procurement and tendering processes here are done in a very biased manner and that is why we want the Senate to come and probe them,” he added.
Ng'etich has also asked the EACC to conduct a more in-depth investigation on governors they have nominated for prosecution, as many operate untouchably in reason of holding office in perpetuity.
