Speaking on Saturday at the Naivasha Maximum Prisons when he received stationery and learning books from the Rotary Club and Kenya Red Cross, Kodek said most inmates are willing to help in times of disaster.

"Most inmates have expressed great interest to join Kenya Red Cross and the Rotary Club. Some have also shown interest in participating in community-related activities,” said Kodek.

Kodek added that soon, the prison will officially launch its first online education website which will have learning books as well as revision materials.

"Inmates have been contributing some money, which they usually receive from social office and on several occasions the money has been distributed to the people who need relief assistance and even in medical camps," said Kodek.

The Rotary Club and the Kenya Red Cross gave the prison 24 packets of chalk, 1,800 exercise books, 400 pencils, 600 pens, various story books and four dictionaries.
