On Tuesday over 600 clerics endorsed Gakuyo’s bid to unseat Kabogo.

The clerics exuded confidence in the real estate tycoon saying he has the potential to make Kiambu a better place than it is today.

Speaking at the Chosen Calvary Center Ministries in Thika on Tuesday, the clerics led by Reverend Stephen Kariuki of PCEA Church, Kiambu region said that Gakuyo has the ability to provide servant leadership to the Kiambu people.

“We all have decided to back Reverend Gakuyo’s bid for the Kiambu governor seat in 2017 because he is the right person for the seat,” he said.

The clerics noted that Gakuyo’s leadership is what is needed to change Kiambu.

They at the same time called for peaceful campaigns among aspirants eyeing seats across the country.

The clerics said that the country needs to remain peaceful before, during and after the 2017 elections.

They vowed to lead peace caravans in Kiambu and other parts of the country ahead of 2017.

Last week Gakuyo received backing from Nairobi senator Mike Sonko who asked Kiambu locals to support his bid.

Reverend Gakuyo declared his bid for Kiambu top seat three weeks ago.

The real estate tycoon says that he has what it takes to send Kabogo packing in 2017.

The entry of Gakuyo into the Kiambu race has been cited by analysts as a game changer.

Governor Kabogo has however dismissed Gakuyo’s entry into the gubernatorial race saying that he is not afraid of him.

Kabogo exuded confident that locals will still elect him in 2017.

The Kiambu gubernatorial race is becoming hotter every day.
