Several National Identity cards remain uncollected from Busia Huduma Centre, less than 48 hours before Kenyans go to elect leaders on Tuesday.
The center’s manager, Linda Jaleta, told The Star that most of the IDs belong those who sought replacements.
"We normally send short service messages to holders of the IDs upon receipt from Nairobi but most of the recipients don't respond to our messages," she told The Star.
All Huduma centres are open this weekend to allow those who have not collected their IDs, a mandatory requirement to vote, to do so.
Jaleta said they have received complaints from married women that their husbands hide their IDs when they discover that their spouses support political parties which they don't subscribe to.
