The would-be -recruits from Western Kenya and Nyanza en route to Kiganjo Police Training College in Nyeri on Sunday had to cut short their journey after been informed their admission had been canceled.

The National Police Service Commission (NPSC) Chairman, Johnstone Kavuludi, canceled their admission on the account that the previous national police service recruitment was marred with irregularities, bribery, nepotism, corruption, intimidation and tribalism.

Silas Yego, 21, said that they are paying for the sins allegedly committed by the officials of NPSC.

“We are shocked to learn of our admission was canceled and we are blaming NPSC for all our suffering,” said Yego.

“I have been raised by a single mother who sold all our seven goats so that I could buy the requirements needed,” said Yego.

“What if I fail to secure admission?” asked Yego.

Dan Wanyama, 26, from Kakamega said that he had to resign from his job as a matatu driver and had spent all his savings in buying the requirements.

“I used Sh 25,000 to buy all the items needed for admission,” said Wanyama.

“We are suffering for sins we didn't commit,” added Wanyama.

The youth expressed contradicting views regarding whose orders to follow since President Uhuru had directed all the 2014 police recruits to report to Kiganjo Police Training College while NPSC boss Kavuludi over turned the directive saying that the whole exercise was tainted with irregularities.

However, Kavuludi has retaliated that the fresh recruitment will include all those who were affected in the tainted exercise and those who were recruited in 2014.
