The exercise targeted people with eye defects from the larger Borabu constituency and is set to continue for the next three days.

Speaking during the event, Kambi urged residents to take advantage of the exercise to minimize expenses used in seeking similar services in different parts of the country.

”I want to urge our people to still come in large numbers so that they minimise expenses incurred when seeking similar services at different places which is sometimes costly,” Kambi said.

“We want to see our people helped to tackle eye defects and that is why I brought the exercise to this place,” added Kambi who is also an aspiring area MP.

He blasted area MP Ben Momanyi for allegedly trying to block an exercise meant to help those who could not afford medication by restricting officials from Nyansiongo Level 4 Hospital.

“We have fought our way in because the management never wanted us to use the Hospital space. It’s sad that they were working under the instruction of our MP because we have intelligence information over the same but the voice of the people has carried the day,” Kambi said.

During the exercise, 50 people were given eye glasses while 33 more that were found with series defects are to face surgery on Tuesday.
