KISIP is currently working on Obunga 1.4km of road, footpaths and drainage works along pamba road and 750m of road works, footpath and drainage works along Kudho road; 5kms of road works, footpaths and drainage works within Nyalenda A and B settlements; 1.7km of sewer line and associated works in Bandani and 1.35km of sewer line and associated works in Obunga.

"KISIP will also by the time of completion install 37 floodlights distributed in Obunga, Bandani and Nyalenda," disclosed Owili on Tuesday.

The donors - Alternative for Germany (AFD) and Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA) asked the contractors to hasten the pace of their work to ensure that the projects are completed in good time.

For prudent use and maximization of funds the parties resolved that the technical teams from KISIP and Kisumu Urban Project (KUP) would meet and review any cases of double allocation of projects between KUP and KISIP in the project areas and come up with new projects in case of any double allocation.

"In line with the World Bank policy on relocation, we urge our people to cooperate with us to ensure that the projects are not halted due to human encroachment on roads reserves and undue compensation claims arising from the same that could derail the projects life cycle," he said.

The County government also appealed to the Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) and Kenya Railways to corporate with the county government and the contractors in the acquisition process of the way leaves.

The projects are planned to be complete by end of May 2018.

"On behalf of the Governor we assure AFD, SIDA and all our development partners of our unwavering support and goodwill on all the ongoing projects."
