Huruma MCA Peter Owera was on Tuesday charged over the killing of a bodyguard attached to ODM parliamentary aspirant Anthony Aluoch.
Owera and five others failed to take plea when they appeared before senior principal magistrate Hellen Onkwani.
According to defence, there was need for more time to respond to the claims which were termed malicious.
Starehe DCIO Linus Owango said victim Dan Omolo was brutally murdered on March 26 in Huruma, Nairobi.
“Due to the complicity of this murder we were unable to produce the suspects in court within 24 hours as required,” said the DCIO.
Police further stated that they needed to collect communication data and carry out age assessment and mental status checks.
The other accused persons are Gabriel Ochieng, Elly Owuor, Dennis Otieno, Raphael Obunga, Peter Mwangi and Daniel Okumu.
