Presidential aspirant Philip Murgor has criticised the 'hustler to billionaire' mentality in the country.
Speaking during an interview on Radio Maisha on Monday, Murgor said the mentality was a means of looting public resources for an individual's gain.
"The hustler to billionaire mentality is wrong. It is a move by corrupt officials to get rich very fast through the use of public offices to loot public funds," said Murgor.
The United Democratic Movement candidate further called on parties that use large amounts of money in campaigns to explain the sources of the money.
According to Murgor, campaigns could be done without involving the use of huge amounts of money.
"The use of huge sums of money in campaigns should be explained. A campaign can be successful without someone depending on money. I am running for president but I am doing campaigns without the use of hundreds of millions of shillings," the Nairobi-based lawyer added.
Murgor further called on the IEBC to streamline itself and iron out issues of concerns before the August elections.
