Kabete MP Ferdinand Waititu has pledged to transform and make Kiambu an economic hub if elected governor.According to Waititu, Kiambu has adequate resources that can change its economic fortunes for the benefit of locals.Speaking during a prayer rally at St Patrick Primary School grounds in Thika on Saturday, the Kabete MP said that his leadership if elected will anchor on trade and industrialisation.Waititu stated that he has key economic reforms that will benefit Kiambu people.The Kabete MP hit out at the current William Kabogo led government accusing it of allegedly failing to boost the county's economy.Waititu claimed that Kiambu’s economy has lagged behind over the last four years.“My key agenda for Kiambu will be to make it an economic and industrialisation hub which will create jobs for unemployed youths and boost living standards for the people,” he said.Waititu also pledged to fast track infrastructure development, women empowerment, trade, agriculture and tourism.The Kabete MP at the same time pledged to establish a development fund for men.He said that men in the county have been neglected and that his leadership will seek to create equal opportunities for men, women, youth and persons living with disabilities.The vocal Kabete MP exuded confidence in clinching the Kiambu top seat.“I can assure you that Kabogo will be send packing by 8 AM on August 8,” he said.Waititu is among candidates who have declared interest to unseat incumbent Kabogo in the August polls.Others are real estate tycoon David Gakuyo, James Nyoro, John Mugwe and businesswoman Njoki Gathendu, both who are eyeing the Jubilee Party ticket.
