Just a day after Kitui governor Charity Ngilu appeared before the National Cohesion and Integration Commission over alleged hate speech,  controversial Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria has declared war on her.

Apparently, Ngilu allegedly ordered the burning of lorries that were ferrying charcoal from her county, a move that led to widespread demonstrations in Limuru.

In a Facebook post on Tuesday evening, Kuria stated that Ngilu was right to stop the charcoal trade in the county but she didn't have to do it in a "primitive" way.

"Whereas Governor Charity Ngilu may have a point on the issue of charcoal trade, asking the locals to take the law into their hands is illegal, unconstitutional and primitive. There must be mechanisms to enforce any national and county laws within the confines of law and order," reads Kuria's post.

The controversial MP has thus called for a gun battle urging all disenfranchised charcoal and sand traders to visit his office as they plan on an attack on the Kitui county boss.

"We need to abide by the law. In the meantime, I am asking all charcoal and sand traders to pass by my office and pick up a few machine guns before you travel to Kitui County," he added.
