President Uhuru Kenyatta has reiterated his commitment towards fighting corruption which has ravaged his administration for the last four years.
The government has been under immense criticism over its alleged reluctance in fighting corruption which has seen millions of shillings lost in dubious projects such as National Youth Service scheme.
In his Saturday’s address to the nation, Uhuru said his government was in touch with various agencies responsible to bring culprits into books.
“We continue to make every legal available effort to prevent and deal with corruption in the public service. The multiagency approach has continued to bring more cases against senior officers suspected of fraud and theft,” he said.
“I have been and remained optimistic that we must go beyond arrests and prosecutions so that we realise convictions as well in this cases,” added Uhuru.
Uhuru’s sentiments come when the country is yet to make strides in recovering alleged loss of Sh1.6bn in the NYS scheme.
