ODM leader Raila Odinga says he groomed National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale to national politics from a ‘nobody’, reports the Star.Odinga says he picked Duale from Mombasa in 2007 and introduced him to a Sheikh and a group of renowned elders in Garissa town then known as Dujis.

The former Prime Minister launched the scathing attack on Duale on Thursday during his voter registration tour in Garissa town.

“I personally picked Duale and took him to one of the Sheikhs and a group of elders in 2007. I prevailed upon them and he won Dujis constituency seat,” Odinga said.

“But unfortunately Duale, a political novice then, is now among those going around the country hurling insults against me. I leave this to God anyway,” he added.

Duale, a close ally of President Uhuru Kenyatta, has been a fierce critic of Odinga and has often held press conferences to rebuke him.

But Odinga argues that Kenyatta, then in KANU, opposed Duale’s candidature which he personally funded.
