Bungoma Governor Ken Lusaka has rubbished reports doing rounds on Social Media that he intends to ditch the Jubilee Party for the Opposition.
Speaking on Wednesday shortly after jetting back from China, the governor maintained that he is still in the Jubilee Party, accusing his political competitors of circulating the false reports.
“I have just returned to the country from China and I’m surprised by reports indicating I’m planning to defect to the National Super Alliance (Nasa)," he observed.
“Let those spreading the rumour know I made an informed decision to join Jubilee and I have no regrets about it,” he added.
Lusaka was elected on a New Ford Kenya Party ticket in the 2013 general elections.
The party has since merged with the newly formed Jubilee Party led by President Uhuru Kenyatta. Governor Lusaka is also a key Jubilee points man in Western Kenya.
