Momanyi said Nyagarama’s critics were out to influence his ambition to vie for the Nyamira Governor seat in 2022.

“Some leaders in Nyamira County are frustrating my efforts to succeed Governor Nyagarama but I wish to assure residents that I stand a better chance to succeed Nyagarama unlike Nyagarama’s rivals who are only interested in criticism,” he said.

The Wiper Party MP said some politicians in the county are working with cartels to embezzle public funds so that they can affect Nyagarama’s service delivery.

“The poor working environment in Nyamira County is occasioned by some cartels and politicians who are only interested to derail Nyagarama’s performance so that they can scare me from vying for the gubernatorial seat.

"Let us not take advantage of Nyagarama’s absence from the county to embezzle funds or criticize his work. I will stand with Nyagarama until 2022 when he will handover power to me,” he said.

Momanyi was speaking at Nyakwerema Catholic church grounds on Saturday.
