Former North Mugirango MP Joseph Kiangoi who is also the East Africa legislature has said that he is still in the Nyamira senatorial race and is not backing up any body.

Speaking to at a youths' meeting at Ikonge, the legislature said that he has his stand firm about vying for the senator's seat, and is sure that the people of Nyamira will want him o serve them.

“I have not dropped my interest in the senatorial seat, I'm still in the race and those rumours that I'm backing up Erick Okongo are not true, the people of Nyamira want my services and I am ready to serve them,” Kiangoi said.

"Nyamira County need vocal leaders like Kiangoi who can be good watchdog of the county management of finances, Nyamira does not need someone who is coward, it will not develop at all,” Kiangoi added.

“My silence does not mean that I have dropped my interest, I am working at the East Africa assembly and its not time for politics," Kiangoi noted.

This comes months after claims erupted that Kiangoi has stepped down to back up the city based lawyer and former LSK chairman Erick Okongo for the Nyamira senatorial seat.
