Kenyan ambassador to UN habitat Professor Sam Ongeri has said he wants to be Kisii county senator in 2017 to bring sanity in the county.
Therefore he dismissed those propagating that he has quitted the race by saying that they have feared his bid.
Addressing residents on Wednesday at Masimba High school in Nyaribari Masaba where he served as MP for many years before going for the senatorial seat in 2013 and lost to Chris Obure the Professor said that following his scorecard he has qualified for the seat .
According to the professor, he has made many achievements in Gusii region more so when he served in Moi regime.
“I have heard many people saying that this time round they will use scorecard of leaders. I am confident with many development records in Gusii region to show," said Ongeri.
“For instance, it was me who made Kisii level Five to be in place when I was serving in Moi government, and I opened many health centers across the Gusii region when I was in education sector I used to negotiate with teachers for the better of this Country,” he added.
He also said that he believes that he won the last general election but since he is Christian he did not want to engage in petitions.
“I believe that I won the last general election but since I didn’t want to engage in election petitions I just gave them time," he added.
