Uasin Gishu County Woman representative Gladys Boss Shollei has hit out leaders who have been accusing her of disengaging locals.
The Woman Rep has instead said she is not a flower girl.
There have been concerns from among other elected leaders in the county that Shollei had taken a low profile in the public limelight since her win in the last year's poll.
Speaking in Kesses constituency on Tuesday, Shollei defended herself saying that the residents of Uasin Gishu County elected her to work and not to show off on every public event.
She said that she has been working and visiting the marginalized parts of the county to address the issues affecting them.
"I have been doing frequent visit to several parts of the county without anyone's knowledge, and I have been in a position to identify the issues that need to be addressed to the relevant authorities," said Shollei.
The former Registrar of Judiciary urged elected leaders accusing her of disengaging mwanachi to work and mind their own business.
"Let everyone do their work and leave Shollei alone, the residents have the final say after five years," she noted insisting that she will maintain her current profile to work for the residents.
