Borabu MP Ben Momanyi has yet again insisted that he was in Cord coalition to stay following weeks of anxiety over his political future.
Momanyi’s relationship with Cord has been a suspect, with sources indicating that State House had successfully lured him to Jubilee government given his active participation during President Uhuru Kenyatta’s visit to Nyamira after reports showed that he was the only MP who was given prior information about the president’s visit.
But on Thursday, a furious Momanyi distanced himself, saying he was satisfied with his Wiper party.
“I know people have been saying that I decamped to Jubilee, and I want to assure you that it’s not true. I am a member of Cord coalition and I have no intentions to leave my Wiper party,” he said.
“Loyalty cannot be measured on how many opposition functions you attend but on your contribution towards making the opposition strong. I may not be visible on our activities but my party boss knows my role in our party,” he said.
He added voice on disbandment of Electoral and Boundaries Commission, saying its commissioners had lost trust and credibility from many members of the public.
“I understand the law so much but there comes a time when an individual’s aspirations are smaller than the interest of the public. IEBC cannot hold elections because most of the public is of the opinion that they go. I fully support my Cord coalition on IEBC issue and we demand that they evacuate soonest,” he said.
