Former Konoin MP and Bomet gubernatorial hopeful Jones Kones has moved to dispel claims by a section of politicians in the region that he is somebody's political project.
Speaking on Saturday in Bomet, the former legislator maintained that he was firmly in the race for governorship in the next general elections.
Kones vied unsuccessfully for the same position in the 2013 polls where he lost to the current governor Isaac Rutto.
"I have been an MP and even vied for the governor's seat in the last general elections. I am certain I was rigged out and so for someone to wake up and say I am being sponsored is totally reckless and absurd," he said.
Kones is set to battle for the Jubilee Party ticket with National Assembly Deputy Speaker Joyce Laboso and Bomet Deputy Governor Stephen Mutai.
