Opposition leader Raila Odinga claims President Uhuru Kenyatta is ‘broke’ and has resorted to using of government resources to campaign.

Odinga has come under criticism from a section of Jubilee leaders following his decision to ask for fundraising from Kenyans to support his campaigns.

At Isinya on Sunday, Odinga said Uhuru was ‘broke’ and has no audacity to question his decision to bank on people for support.

“Uhuru is himself a beneficiary of contributions from a number of wealthy people who get government contracts,” said Odinga.

“He is also broke and that is why he asks for help from those who steal with him. He is using government resources which are against the law. I am banking on my ordinary supporters for funding,” he added.

The decision by Supreme Court has made the two major political rivals to go back to drawing board with NASA, a part from launching a pay bill number; it has also set a target for its elected leaders.

On Thursday at a press conference, National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale dismissed Odinga’s approach as a scheme to solicit money for business from ordinary Kenyans.
