Waititu says that he has no intentions of abandoning his bid for the Kiambu top seat in next year’s polls.

The MP says that his opponents are spreading rumors that he is quitting the Kiambu 2017 race.

“I am still in the Kiambu governor seat race and competitors should brace up for a hot contest in 2017,” he said during the burial of Mr Eliud Gathangari, personal bodyguard of Thika MP Alice Nga’ng’a in Magutu, Nyeri county on Monday.

Waititu said that he is the best option for Kiambu adding that once elected he will transform the county.

The Kabete MP accused the current Kiambu government of failing to deliver on its development pledges.

Waititu also accused the governor William Kabogo led government of allegedly favoring some areas in terms of development.

Waititu a critic of Kabogo’s administration has vowed to send him packing in next year’s polls. The two leaders are not seeing each other eye to eye and have been embroiled in public spats.

Early this year Kabogo filed a petition in court claiming that Waititu lacks academic qualifications to be a leader.

Waititu has however refuted the claims saying that he has academic papers.

The contest for the Kiambu seat is expected to gear up as more aspirants join race to unseat governor Kabogo in next year's general elections.
