Former Kisii county senator Chris Obure has now said he is not rallying leaders to rival Education cabinet secretary Dr.Fred Matiang’I but instead he is pushing the Jubilee government to add another slot for the Gusii people.
Speaking during a church fundraiser on Sunday in Sameta area Obure said their move to unite a good number of Gusii leaders is geared towards ensuring that the community is empowered fully by the National government.
“A section of the media reported that I was rallying leaders from the region to outshine Dr. Matiang’I but that is a lie as we are closely working with him to ensure that we get more opportunities for our people,” said Obure.
Obure, however, maintained that he is optimistic that they will be able to gain more from the government appointments more so from the region.
The former senator has been for the last few days holding secret meeting with other Jubilee leaders from the region with an agenda of pushing jubilee for an extra cabinet secretary slot.
