Kisii county Governor James Ongwae has said that he is ready to compete with anybody who is going to vie for the gubernatorial seat in the next polls.
Ongwae who was speaking on Friday evening at Gusii cultural hall during an interview with Egesa FM about the developments he has made since he was elected, he said that he cannot be scared by anybody.
This comes after some politicians held a meeting at Otamba in Nyaribari Chache led by Senator Chris Obure, Depurty governor Joash Maangi among other leaders who want to endorse one of them for the gubernatorial seat to challenge Ongwae.
However, Ongwae has dismissed their bid by assuring them that he is ready to meet them at the ballot.
"I would not be scared of anybody about my bid for re-election let us meet in the ballot come 2017," Ongwae said.
The county boss added that while others are in early campaigns he will focus on development which will help him more so in the scorecard which will help residents to decide whom they can vote for.
"Voters are the ones with the scorecard, I will concentrate on development projects so that when time comes residents can decide, I don’t think that residents can be taken by the wind," he added.
Ongwae added that being the first elected Governor he started from scratch but now his administration has done a lot more so in initiating development projects and he will focus to make sure that all achievements are achieved before next polls.
In addition, he said that they have set measures of constructing more roads and installing solar lights in some centers.
