Controversial Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko has hinted out that he is not scared after the 2013 presidential aspirant Peter Kenneth declared interest to vie for Nairobi governor seat the same seat Sonko is eyeing in 2017 polls.
Sonko told the Nairobian on Tuesday that he is ready to go into the ballot with Peter Kenneth and any other candidate citing that it is the people of Nairobi who will decide who to vote for.
"Nairobi people will decide who they want to steer them for the next five years after the 2017 elections”, noted Sonko.
He warned aspirants seeking the city's top seat that they should not chest thumb that they will be the solution to the problems facing Nairobi locals.
“The people of this city know who has had their interests at heart and will not be taken for a ride. Its laughable when some characters pop out of the blue and claim to have an interest in leading Nairobi. Let them be reminded that this is the regional hub and only those who know the sufferings of the residents can manage to run it. Even the current Governor has done nothing but make the life of city residents unbearable", Sonko told the Nairobian.
He pointed out that the the business environment in the city is hostile since the county government keeps playing with tax payers’ money.
He added that his opponents are planning to manipulate and divide the city votes but assured that Nairobi county is not easily manipulated.
