Former Premier Raila Odinga has responded to President Uhuru Kenyatta calls for him to retire from active politics.
Raila warned Uhuru to stop lecturing him as if he is his son.
The sentiments come in after Uhuru's two-day tour of Central Kenya where the Head of State told Raila to retire from active politics and he would occasionally take a "bowl of uji" to him in Bondo.
On Tuesday while addressing a delegation of the Maasai community at Orange house, Raila said it is the citizens who will determine whether he is too old to quit.
"President Uhuru should stop lecturing me since I am not his son. Kenyans want good leadership and not statements used by colonialists to blackmail Kenyans," Odinga stated.
He also responded to Uhuru's claims that former President Mwai Kibaki gave him a job.
“Kibaki did not give me a job. I won the election,” Raila affirmed.
