The man who hang on the chopper carrying ODM party leader Raila Odinga has said he is one of Mr Odinga's chief campaigners in Meru County.
Julius Rigo, 28, now popularly known to as 'Meru James Bond' on Thursday clung on the landing skids of the chopper carrying Mr Odinga as it took off at Maili Tatu in Maua Meru to the astonishment of many.
"I am one of the chief campaigners of Mr Odinga," he told journalists as quoted by the Star at Maua Police Station where he was taken to after being arrested.
"I was going to follow him no matter what. I wanted to get into the chopper but when I missed the chance, I had to cling onto it."
Rigo took advantage of the choppers' slow take off motion to swing up and seat on its landing skids holding himself with one hand while waving to the crowds.
He wore an orange cap, the official colour of the ODM party at the time of his arrest in Igembe South where the chopper safely landed with him.
He said he wanted to follow Raila so that he could give him a job.
"I am still appealing to Mr Odinga to try and secure me any job that will help me take care of my siblings," he said.
The incident happened eight months after a similar one in Bungoma where a man clung on the helicopter that was ferrying former businessman Jacob Juma's body for burial in Kanduyi, Bungoma.
