Uasin Gishu governor Jackson Mandago has coined himself a new name days after he was re-elected in the just concluded August 8 polls.
Speaking in Eldoret on Wednesday after his win, Mandago noted that despite the National Super Alliance (Nasa) principal Raila Oginga (baba) losing the presidency race to Jubilee’s President Uhuru Kenyatta, he as ‘baba mdogo’ will give jobs to two opposition MCA candidates from the county who lost to their Jubilee rivals.
During the campaigns, the Jubilee governor and Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi publicly campaigned for Charles Okumu (ODM) for the Langas ward representative seat and backed Andrew Sure for Huruma ward representative post against Jubilee's Peter Chomba.
“I have told them that even though Baba (Raila Odinga) lost in the polls, they should not be worried because Baba Mdogo (Mandago) won and they will be part of my team," said Mandago as quoted by the Star.
He further stated his administration will include all communities adding that both Jubilee and Nasa helped him attain his victory.
Before the elections, Mandago’s reelection bid had been endorsed by the five Nasa principals.
