Kisii County assembly speaker David Kombo has broken his silence over corruption allegations that has rocked his office in the last few days.
According to Mr Kombo he is totally not aware of the KSh16 million that a section of MCAs are claiming to have not been accounted for by the Assembly officials under his watch.
However, he agreed to pay the funds if those planning to impeach him can prove that indeed the funds aren’t accounted for.
Speaking in his office on Tuesday the speaker said he was shocked to know that their were plans to impeach him while he was in Tanzania on official duties.
"The ward representatives are engaging on a pure witch hunt by peddling false accusations against me. All I can say for now is that am ready to account for every single cent that got lost if any," he said.
Mr Kombo, a former MP said that those pushing for his impeachment had been paid by his rivals who wanted him out of the office.
However, agreeing to pay any funds that could not be accounted for seen not to be welcomed by ward representatives who maintained that they want him out of office.
