Mudavadi said that he was working with other leaders under the newly formed National Super Alliance (NASA) to ensure that one opposition candidate is fronted to oust President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto in the 2017 general elections.

Mudavadi said that the president’s recent scare claim that foreign countries were were interested in changing the leadership of the country was a defence mechanism from the fright of conceding defeat at the hands on NASA and offered to sacrifice his bid for a regime change.

"If shelving my presidential bid will be the ultimate prize for to give the country better leadership, then I will do so since it is our common course," said Mr. Mudavadi.

Mudavadi also revealed that Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has invited him as a special guest at the Wiper National Delegates Council Conference to be held at Kasarani as an assurance to citizens that the opposition is united.
