Mutua said he was ready to reach out to his political 'rivals' for the sake of the county's development.

"There is no bad blood between me and Wavinya Ndeti, we compete in politics but that doesn't bar me from maintaining my good relationship with opponents. I am appealing to Ndeti to join me in developing Machakos County in a bid of improving living standards of our people," Mutua said.

He spoke during an interview with Radio Jambo on Wednesday.

Mutua assured the locals that new projects will be initiated in the county.

"Residents of Machakos have access to clean water and improved road network, my administration is committed to engage constituents to give priority on the projects that will be initiated to improve lifestyles. Those spreading propaganda about them should wait until 2022," Mutua noted.

He said more funds had been allocated to help students who have plans to further their studies once they complete form four.
